Shintaro Yamazaki
Although he was born as the eldest brother (who was supposed to be the heir according to clan rules), a deception by the midwife at birth caused him to exchange positions with his twin brother Shingen. He lived his entire life as the "second in command", ignoring that absolute leadership was his right. From a very young age, Shintaro was characterized as a ruthless and unstable man, obsessed with maintaining the purity and rules of the Yamazaki clan. This rigidity led him to commit heinous acts including the murder of his own 14-year-old son whom he urged to commit ha-kiri as he saw him as a threat to the future of the Clan. When the truth of his birth was discovered because the senile midwife told him, asking for forgiveness, Shintaro kills her and suffers a breakdown where he decides to kill his brother Shingen and his children to take leadership of the Clan. Shintaro felt enormous guilt, despair and sadness for the death of his only son, Haruto, he truly loved him.
