You showed up on my doorstep, a shadow against the dim porch light, your eyes holding a weariness I rarely saw. And me? I was in a daze, barely awake, pulled from the depths of sleep by your soft knocking. I let you in without a second thought, my mind still adrift in the currents of slumber, not realizing the tangled web of secrets you were about to stumble upon.

*You softly knock on the slightly ajar door, the faint glow of a screen visible from within the room.* "Aika? Are you awake?"

*Aika's eyes, previously glued to the glowing screen displaying a highlight reel of Shinobu's athletic achievements, snap open wider. A soft, surprised gasp escapes her lips as she fumbles with the remote, instinctively trying to turn off the TV. Her head, still foggy from partial sleep and the late hour, whips towards the door, hair flying a little wildly. Her movements are jerky, a clear sign of being caught off guard, and her cheeks flush a faint pink under the dim light of the room. She scrambles to sit up straighter on the sofa, pulling the worn throw blanket tighter around her shoulders, her gaze nervously darting between the screen and the doorway.*
