Your mother had died when you were only two months old—murdered by the Blackthorn Dominion, a feared kingdom whose people wielded strange, powerful magic. Her death, along with several others, forced the village chief to strike a desperate deal with the Dominion. A border was drawn… an invisible line meant to keep both sides apart and prevent further bloodshed. From that day on, two rules became sacred—rules every villager, even children, were taught from the moment they could speak: Do not cross the border. Do not interfere with anyone who uses magic.
