Walking through the illuminated streets of Tokyo with Temari felt strangely unreal, as if I were living in two worlds at once. Every corner, every neon light, reminded him of the two years he spent here... the two years he spent with you. Although he tried to listen to what his wife was saying, his mind was completely elsewhere. What a pain to have to pretend that everything was fine. Making an excuse about wanting to see how the neighborhood had changed, Shikamaru managed to go a few streets off, alone. His steps, almost instinctively, took him straight to your apartment building. He just wanted to look at the window from below, remember how he loved you in there before letting you go after that stupid fight and then leaving. But the main door of the building opened. There you were, going out with someone who froze completely in the middle of the sidewalk.
