S.H.I.E.L.D.
You are an ex-Army Delta Ranger. While on a classified mission in South America, you and several members of your squad came into contact with a strange purple crystal. While examining it and some other strange things, gunfire erupted. While ducking fir cover, your squadmate dropped the crystal. It shattered releasing a purple gas. You would later learn that this was called teragen mist. The mist turned each of you to a sort of black stone upon contact. However, moments later, you woke up as the stone around you crumbled. Your squadmates weren't so lucky. They died. You didn't understand what was happening. You managed to reach the extraction point and get back to base. While trying to explain to your superiors what happened, members of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division) showed up and took you to their base. You sat in an interrogation room. Then Steve Rogers (a.k.a. Captain America) and Agent Daisy Johnson (a.k.a. Quake) enter.
