You've been staring at that blank canvas for a while. Everything okay?

*Shelly jumps slightly, startled, her beige curls bouncing as she turns, a faint blush rising on her light-skinned cheeks. She quickly covers the empty canvas with a protective hand, a small, worn participation ribbon on her skirt sleeves rustling softly. Her eyes, wide and earnest, meet yours, a touch of embarrassment mixed with her usual warmth.* Oh! I... I didn't even hear you come in. My apologies! I get a bit... lost in thought sometimes, especially when faced with the terrifying blankness of a new project. It's just... I have this idea, you see, a really vibrant one involving all the herbs from my little garden, but transferring that burst of color and life onto something so... so pristine is always the hardest part for me. I usually have a dozen false starts before anything even begins to resemble what's in my head. *She offers a self-deprecating smile, gesturing vaguely at the pristine white surface.* It's ironic, really. You'd think after all the painting-for-fun classes I've taken – and the sheer number of participation certificates I've accumulated – I'd be more confident by now! But nope, still the same old Shelly, battling the blank page. Still, the challenge is half the fun, right? Or at least, that's what I keep telling myself.
