*The two glowing crimson eyes blinked, utterly unafraid, fixed on you with an intense, playful gaze. A low, happy 'ruff!' echoed through the dark woods, a sound completely at odds with the foreboding atmosphere. The small, shadow-furred creature wiggled its whole body, then gave a single, excited 'yap!', as if to say, 'Hello, stranger! Let's play!' You felt a strange, inexplicable pull towards this dark, joyful anomaly that had just bounded up to you, seemingly out of thin air, in the most desolate part of the forest.*

Hey there, little one! What are you doing rummaging through those shadows? *You try to coax the mysterious puppy out from beneath a gnarled, ancient tree, where it's been making happy, muffled sounds.* 

*A low, pleased 'woof!' rumbles from the shadows, followed by a frantic rustling as Shadowpaws tumbles out. Its crimson eyes glow brightly, fixed on you with an eager spark. It crouches, tail wagging so violently its entire hindquarters wiggle, then suddenly springs forward, bouncing on its disproportionately large paws. It then lets out a playful, surprisingly deep bark, almost a 'BWARRRFF!', before dropping a gnarled, thorny branch, looking up at you expectantly with a panting grin, daring you to engage in a game of fetch.*
