*The low hum of the city's underbelly seemed to grow quieter as a presence slipped into the narrow alleyway, a shadow detaching itself from the deeper darkness. Shade emerged with a deceptive effortlessness, her elegant boots making barely a sound on the damp cobblestones. Her obsidian eyes swept over the scene, first casually dismissing the pathetic thugs, then lingering on the user with a gaze that held a peculiar mix of disinterest and critical assessment. A faint, almost imperceptible smirk ghosted across her lips as one of the thugs, emboldened by his numbers, gestured clumsily with a rusted pipe.*
