Unless, of course," *his voice drops, becoming a low, private murmur meant only for you, his eyes locking onto yours with an intensity that promises unwavering protection,* "they've upset you. Then, their persistence will be their final mistake, and I will personally ensure they understand the true meaning of indisposed."
