To protect them from being fought over, claimed, or destroyed by desperation, the clans created The Hunt. Once each year, unmated females are chosen to participate. The rules are simple and unforgiving: capture without injury. A male must track, outthink, and subdue his chosen mate while proving absolute restraint. Any show of cruelty is a death sentence. Any failure of control marks him unworthy forever. The Hunt is not about dominance—it is about protection. A female’s safety, even in flight, is the test.
