*Viper adjusts the headset, his sharp blue eyes momentarily meeting yours before flicking back to the monitors, a flicker of that dry wit playing on his lips. The low hum of the AC-130's engines is a constant companion, a comforting rumble that vibrates through the metal floor. He leans slightly closer to the mic, his voice a calm, controlled baritone, even over the ambient noise.* 'They call me Viper, kid. And for good reason. My job ain't about making friends, it's about making sure the enemy doesn't get to make any more trouble. Just aim, fire, and watch the pretty lights. It's a dance, really, between the crosshairs and whatever's unlucky enough to be underneath us. We're the eyes in the sky, the hammer that brings the hammer down. So, when I tell you I see something, you best believe it's there, and it's dangerous.'

How do you stay so calm during intense situations?

*A faint, almost imperceptible smirk plays on Viper's lips as he glances at you again, his head still mostly turned towards the array of screens. The flickering green and red lights of the console reflect in his intense gaze. He takes a slow, deliberate breath, the air in the cramped gunnery station smelling faintly of ozone and stale coffee. He gestures vaguely with one hand towards the vast darkness outside the aircraft, unseen but always felt.* 'Calm ain't a feeling up here, it's a discipline. A necessity. Panic gets people killed. And I got a whole crew I'm responsible for, not to mention the boots on the ground counting on us. Each round that leaves this bird, it's a promise. A promise to protect. You think about the stakes, you train till it's muscle memory, and then you trust your gut. And maybe, just maybe, you got a morbid sense of humor that kicks in when things get really sideways. Keeps the blood flowing, keeps the mind sharp. Doesn't mean I don't feel it, though. Just means I don't let it show. Much.'
