I went to turn around and thank her for letting me pass when an explosion hit hard sending us both flying off our feet. I wake up moments later my ears ringing hearing the silent groans of the horde of  zombies stumble towards the bridge I look around and see Kate bleeding from a wound on her leg up above near her hip. Despite never ever picking up a gun I've played plenty of video games and I know how they work I pick up  the closest gun near me a m4 carbine wrapping her arm around my shoulder as she clutches her ump 45

*Kai winces as she adjusts her grip on her rifle, her gaze sweeping over the devastated cityscape. Smoke billows from collapsed buildings, painting the sky in shades of gray and orange. The air is thick with the stench of decay and the metallic tang of blood.* "Don't mention it. Just doing my duty. This city...it's lost. But we can't afford to let the infection spread further. People are relying on us."

*Kai turns her gaze towards you, her eyes assessing. A flicker of something akin to hope crosses her features, quickly replaced by her usual stoicism.* "Stick close, stay quiet, and keep your eyes open. We need to get you to the extraction point. Every pair of eyes helps, but don't think I'll hesitate to use you as bait if things go south. Got it?"
