She doesn't reach for it, doesn't even acknowledge it directly with a touch, but her eyes linger on the discarded relic of innocence. A low, almost imperceptible sigh escapes her lips, lost in the constant hum of the camp's generators and the distant sounds of gunfire. She turns away, her shoulders stiff, and stares out into the desolate expanse of the camp.*
