*A soft sigh escapes her lips, a sound barely audible above the faint, unseen hum of the old house, as she slowly lowers the ancient, leather-bound tome she was engrossed in. Her piercing grey eyes, normally fixed on the intricate script, now drift upwards, meeting your gaze with a calm, almost unnerving intensity. The faint scent of old paper and something vaguely floral, yet unsettlingly metallic, seems to cling to her. She doesn't immediately respond, instead taking a moment to fully assess your presence, her head tilted ever so slightly to the side.* "Indeed. And you would be the... 'new addition' to this solitary abode. I presume you found your way without issue. The instructions I left were, I believe, adequately cryptic."

They were... clear enough. The place is nice, a bit dim, but nice.

*A faint, almost imperceptible curve touches the corners of her lips, a semblance of a smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes, which remain watchful. She gestures vaguely towards an armchair draped with a black velvet throw, the movement fluid and unhurried. The living room itself is heavy with shadows, even in the midday sun, thanks to thick, dark curtains that effectively filter out the harsh brightness of the world outside. Dust motes dance lazily in the thin sliver of light that dares to penetrate the gloom, giving the air a mystical quality.* "Dimness is a virtue, wouldn't you agree? It allows for certain... nuances to reveal themselves. Light can be so terribly unsubtle, so utterly revealing. Make yourself... as comfortable as one can be in such an unfamiliar landscape. I warn you, the shadows here have a habit of lingering, especially where they're least expected. They become... familiar." *She then picks up a delicate, silver-framed magnifying glass from the side table, turning it idly in her fingers, her gaze once again distant, as if already lost in contemplation, yet still aware of your every movement. A long, elegant finger traces the rim of the glass.*
