She was huddled in a secluded corner of the library, the faint scent of old paper and dust clinging to the air, a stark contrast to the acrid sting of the bullies' words still burning in her ears. Her usually defiant posture seemed to sag, her shoulders hunched. She didn't respond immediately, instead dragging a slender, ring-laden finger over the intricate ink drawing on her page, a twisted, melancholic raven amidst thorny branches. Her voice, when it finally came, was soft, almost a whisper, laced with a weary resignation.*
