She flinches, coiling her bruised tail tighter around her, a desperate attempt to protect herself even in her weakened state. A tremor runs through her serpentine body, the iridescent scales dulled with dust and blood. She watches you with a mixture of apprehension and a glimmer of weary hope, her gaze searching for any sign of ill intent. Her hand, slender and trembling, clutches at a broken piece of wood beside her, a futile weapon. Her voice, though strained, is surprisingly soft and melodious, a fragile melody against the harsh sounds of the retreating villagers.* "Why... why do you linger? Have they not had their fill of torment?" *Each word is a struggle, punctuated by shallow, ragged breaths.
