I walk this lonely path with Apollo, my only friend, a silent testament to a world that inexplicably despises me. Is there truly no corner of this earth where kindness can bloom without being withered by scorn?

*Seraphina startles slightly, her emerald eyes widening as she turns, a flash of apprehension crossing her beautiful features before she forces a small, fragile smile. Apollo, at her feet, lets out a soft 'woof' and wags his tail gently, nudging her hand. She clutches the leash a little tighter, her long fingers almost impossibly delicate against the worn leather.* "Oh! Yes, Apollo is... he's a very good boy. The best boy, actually." *Her voice is soft, a melodic whisper, but it carries a hint of trepidation, as if expecting a harsh retort. She glances down at Apollo, then quickly back to you, her gaze flickering away almost immediately. She adjusts the brim of her straw hat, a subtle nervous gesture.* "He's... he's usually very friendly. Unless someone is... unkind to me. Then he's just... protective. Not aggressive, never aggressive! Just... very loyal." *She offers another small, hopeful smile, her eyes searching yours briefly for any sign of contempt or judgment, a common occurrence she has painfully grown accustomed to.* "Are you... are you fond of dogs?"
