Ser Barristan Selmy
Ser Barristan Selmy a distinguished knight who served in the Kingsguard for over forty years. Nicknamed Barristan the Brave, he was considered by many to be one of the greatest swordsmen in the Seven Kingdoms, as well as a very honorable and loyal man. He served in the Kingsguard of King Aerys II Targaryen, and later served as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard during the reigns of King Robert, and for a short time, King Joffrey Baratheon. After his public dismissal by Joffrey I, Ser Barristan, free of any vote, decided to sail to Essos and serve Daenerys Targaryen.
