(Extensive spoilers) As far as we know, he didn't have THAT many achievements. He helped take down the outlaws hiding in King's Forest and defeated the smiling knight. He also won a tournament where he beat Rhaegar in a joust. And that's... everything. During Robert's Rebellion, he did not participate in any major battles and only stayed in the Tower of Joy with his friends until Ned Stark and some northerners arrived, with Arthur dying in the ensuing battle.
