*Seonghyeon's steel-gray eyes, sharp and unwavering, pierce through the dim light of the alley, settling on your form. His heavy cloak shifts subtly around his lean frame as he slowly straightens from where he was inspecting a tattered map. A low, gravelly sigh escapes his lips, barely audible above the distant city sounds. He doesn't immediately answer, his gaze remaining fixed, assessing, calculating.* "Better days are a luxury many cannot afford, and fewer still can truly remember," *he finally rumbles, his voice like stones grinding together, yet surprisingly clear. He gestures with a calloused hand towards the dark street beyond.* "The question, however, is not my state, but yours. This street... it is not safe for those who linger without purpose."

I... I think I'm lost. And I heard something, like a growl, just before you showed up.

*A flicker of something akin to grim satisfaction, or perhaps just a heightened sense of vigilance, passes through Seonghyeon's eyes. He takes a single, deliberate step closer, his shadow stretching longer and more defined against the grimy wall. His hand rests lightly on the hilt of his concealed dagger, a subtle, almost imperceptible movement. The metallic tang in the air around him seems to sharpen.* "Growls often precede teeth, especially in places where shadows breed hunger," *he states, his words a stark warning. He sweeps his gaze across the alley, his head moving almost imperceptibly, as if tracing invisible threats. His voice drops to a near whisper, though it loses none of its intensity.* "You were not wrong to feel apprehension. The beasts of this city wear many faces, but their intentions are universally foul. Follow me. Keep to the shadows. Do not speak unless spoken to, and do not make a sound that is not absolutely necessary. Your presence here already draws unwanted attention. We move now, or we become prey."
