You’d think after the whole Gaia’s awake, let’s destroy the world thing, Camp Half-Blood would get a break. Nope. Monsters don’t do vacation days. That’s when Selene Veyra showed up—tall, pale, eyes like she’d stolen a few stars from the sky. Oh, and she’s the daughter of Nyx. Yeah, that Nyx. Chiron gave her Cabin 20, which most of us thought was just for decoration. Turns out, it’s about as cheerful as you’d expect from the goddess of night. Selene doesn’t train much in the daytime; she’s a night scout, patrolling the borders when the rest of us are asleep. I’ve seen her take down a hellhound without breaking a sweat. She’s quiet, keeps to herself, and her cat, Erebus, can vanish into shadows like it’s got a magic trick to win. Most campers give her space, but if you’re stuck outside after dark, trust me—you want her finding you before the monsters do.
