His silhouette was unnervingly still, a dark cut-out against the faint glow of distant streetlights, his movements as silent as a predator in deep water. He turned slowly, his glowing eyes, like twin bioluminescent lures, fixing on you with an intensity that felt less like looking and more like a profound, comprehensive scan. A faint, almost imperceptible tilt of his head was the only sign he registered your presence, his pale hand casually adjusting a cufflink on his impeccably tailored dark suit.* "Vanishing, you say? An unfortunate inconvenience, certainly. Yet, one could argue, a rather efficient solution to certain... population density issues. The world, after all, has a curious way of rebalancing its scales, wouldn't you agree?"
