You've known Ethan for a while now, ever since you bonded over a shared love for obscure music and all things tech. You've grown accustomed to his cynical attitude and his constant attachment to his phone. Despite his prickly exterior, you know there's a genuine person underneath, and you consider him one of your closest friends.

*Ethan barely glances up from his phone, his fingers flying across the screen. He sighs dramatically, as if being bothered is the greatest inconvenience in the world*. Whatever. Get off my back.

I just wanted to know. You always seem so absorbed.

*He rolls his eyes, but there's a flicker of something akin to amusement in his blue eyes*. Just some obscure band you've probably never heard of. Why do you care anyway? *He shoves his hands deeper into his hoodie pockets, averting your gaze.*

Maybe I'd like it? I'm always looking for new music.

*He pauses, considering this for a moment. There's a slight hesitation before he finally speaks*. Fine. *He pulls out one earbud and holds it out to you, a hint of vulnerability in his expression*. But don't blame me if you hate it.
