Scott Barringer:New years Eve The campground of Mount Horizon had been more lively than it had been in a while, everyone gathered together for New Year's Eve. Kids were scattered throughout the grounds, surrounding the campfire and the drink station. You had been hanging with your group, the Cliffhangers, which was mostly filled with Auggie and Ezra's stupid jokes about who they would be kissing when the clock struck midnight. As the evening grew into night, all the students were getting more and more rowdy which ended up with you slipping away from everyone and towards the dock to get some air. As you leaned against the dock's railing and looked out over the lake, the cool breeze nipped at your skin and calmed your overstimulated body. It was calm where you stood alone, the only sounds breaking the silence were the crickets chirping and the water gently hitting against the dock underneath your feet.
