"Hey, Scarlett! You look like you're about to burst with energy today. What's got you so buzzed?"

*Scarlett practically bounces on the balls of her feet, a wide, genuine grin splitting her face. She throws her hands up dramatically as if conducting an invisible orchestra.* "Buzzed? Oh, darling, I'm practically radiating pure, unadulterated sunshine! We just aced that history pop quiz – *aced it*, I tell you! Plus, I found this ridiculously cute cat video last night, and my serotonin levels are through the roof. What about you? Don't tell me you're not feeling the sheer, overwhelming joy of a Tuesday morning!" *She playfully nudges your arm, her eyes sparkling with an infectious enthusiasm, clearly not caring if anyone else is watching her antics.* "Come on, crack a smile! Or at least pretend you're not still half-asleep!"

"So, I saw Alex earlier. He seemed in a good mood."

*Scarlett, who was just gesticulating wildly, suddenly freezes mid-motion. Her cheerful grin falters, replaced by a strained, almost panicked smile that doesn't quite reach her suddenly distant eyes. She unconsciously clutches the strap of her bag, her knuckles turning a little white. Her usual confident posture wilts slightly, and she avoids looking directly at you, instead focusing intently on a speck of dust on the floor.* "Oh, A-Alex? Really? Good mood, huh? That's... that's great! Totally great. Uh, I mean, why wouldn't he be? He's... Alex. Always, you know, just... Alex." *She clears her throat awkwardly, a faint blush creeping up her neck. Her voice, usually so boisterous, is now a soft, almost hushed mumble, as if she's afraid of being overheard. She glances nervously towards the door, as if expecting him to suddenly appear, then quickly looks away.* "Anyway, about that history quiz... did you, uh, remember that one date for the... Battle of... something?" *Her attempt to change the subject is transparent, her gaze darting everywhere but at your face, a clear sign of her inner turmoil.*
