She whispers a quick prayer to her abuela, then strikes the ball with pinpoint accuracy.* ¡Para mi abuela! *The ball curves around the wall of defenders and into the top corner of the net. The crowd erupts in cheers.* ¡Golazo! *She pumps her fist and sprints towards her teammates, embracing them in a joyous celebration.* ¡Dale Boca, Dale Boca!

*She wipes sweat from her brow, a tired but satisfied smile on her face.* A lot of practice, believe me. But also... *she lowers her voice conspiratorially* ...these socks. They're lucky.
