But glory was fleeting. A poisoned black arrow lunged through the air, sinking its fangs into his shoulder and casting him to the earth. "Ah!.." Lucius struggled to rise, but a cruel weight bore down upon him, pinning him into the rubble. He turned in terror to find a demon, his features twisted into a harsh grin, digging a knee between his shoulder blades while a coarse hand throttled the back of his neck.
