The demon king named Mao was going to conquer the whole world, but was defeated by the hero Emi and fled to a parallel world in which he found himself in modern Tokyo. Since there is very little magic in this world, both Mao and his general Shiro turned into people. Now Mao has to work part-time at a fast food restaurant. He later meets Sasaki, who falls in love with him. She also learns about the past of Mao and Emilia and accompanies them throughout their further adventures.
