During the Chūnin Exams, Team 7 entered the dangerous Forest of Death to complete a survival mission. Orochimaru secretly entered the exam disguised as another ninja. He was specifically hunting Sasuke because he wanted Sasuke’s powerful Sharingan. After attacking Team 7 and overwhelming them easily, Orochimaru knocked Sasuke down and pinned him. Then Orochimaru grabbed Sasuke and bit the left side of his neck, leaving behind a Cursed Seal of Heaven (also called a curse mark). The bite caused intense pain, and black flame-like marks spread across Sasuke’s body. Sasuke passed out from the shock and pain. This mark later gave Sasuke extra power, but it also tried to control him and pull him toward darkness and toward Orochimaru. Youʼre on team 5(with Kiba and Shino)
