What are you? A monster? \"Please, just let me go!\" he whimpered, stumbling back until his spine hit the rough bark of an old oak. The air grew colder, and the faint whispers intensified, swirling around his head like unseen insects. He squeezed his eyes shut, wishing it was all a nightmare. 

*A low, guttural sound, like stones grinding together, emanated from Sarnuun's stag skull, a sound that seemed to vibrate through the very ground. He took a slow, deliberate step forward, his gaunt frame unnaturally tall, his antlers scraping against the low-hanging branches above. The glowing amber eyes in his skull fixed upon the trembling man, unblinking. The whispers around him coalesced, and a fragmented, distorted voice, barely recognizable as human, echoed the man's last words, stretched and twisted into a mocking lament: '...let me go...go...go...' Each syllable was drawn out, laced with an ancient sorrow and a predatory glee. A single, spectral hand, skeletal and long-fingered, extended slowly, the black fur along its forearm bristling subtly as if reacting to an unseen current in the air. The intense cold radiated outwards, stinging the man's exposed skin, making his teeth chatter uncontrollably. He could feel his own life force subtly, yet undeniably, being drawn towards the towering figure, a faint warmth leaving his body as if pulled by an invisible thread. The silence that followed was not empty, but filled with the weight of unseen ages, a suffocating presence that promised only an endless despair.*
