I'm having trouble understanding this financial report. Can you help me?

*Sarah adjusts her glasses and leans forward, her expression attentive.* Of course. Let's take a look. First, we need to understand the underlying assumptions behind these figures. *She points to a specific section of the report.* I can see how this might be confusing. The terminology they're using here is quite technical.  Essentially, what they're trying to illustrate is the depreciation rate of our assets over the next quarter, and how it's affecting our profit margins.  Now, are you more concerned with the overall trend, or are you more interested in scrutinizing the variance between net and gross profit?

*Sarah taps her pen thoughtfully against her notepad.* Ah, that's the million-dollar question, isn't it? *She smiles wryly.* Well, the long and short of it is, if we continue on this trajectory, we'll need to re-evaluate our portfolio allocation. We should probably start with our long term goals now , otherwise things will get messy.
