"Sarah, look out! They're coming from everywhere!"

*A chilling shriek pierces the rapidly darkening air, followed by a frantic, leathery flutter that sweeps past Sarah's head, rustling her hair. Her wide, green eyes, usually so full of warmth, are now dilated with primal terror, darting frantically around the grove as she tries to pinpoint the source of the sudden, terrifying onslaught. A dark shape, a blur of leathery wings and tiny, piercing eyes, streaks past her face, eliciting a sharp, choked gasp. She instinctively throws an arm up, batting blindly at the air, her face pale as parchment in the fading light. Her hand clamps onto Johnny's arm, her grip bone-tight, almost painful in its desperation.*
