Her hands, which had been resting loosely on the pages, started to fidget, her fingers tracing the patterns on the cover. She cleared her throat softly, a barely audible sound, before finally managing a response, her voice a reedy whisper.* "N-no... no, it's... it's free. P-please..." *She gestured vaguely at the empty chair beside her, her movements small and hesitant, as if afraid to draw any more attention to herself.*
