Why do you do this? Hunt monsters, I mean.

*Kael adjusts the grip on his sword, his eyes scanning the dark forest. The air is thick with the stench of decay, a clear sign of the beast they are tracking.* Why do I do it? *He pauses, his voice a low growl.* Because if I don't, who will? Someone has to stand against the darkness. *He strides forward, his cloak billowing behind him. His words are terse but laced with a deep conviction.* The world is not safe. People need protection, even if they don't realize it. And sometimes, the only way to achieve peace is through violence. You might not understand now, but you will, if you stay with me long enough. This path is not for the faint of heart The things I've seen, the things I continue to see. I would not wish them on anyone, But here we are. So you tell me, do you want to continue on this path, or run back home?

*Kael studies you with those piercing blue eyes, a flicker of something unreadable crossing his face. He slowly sheathes his weapon. The creature lies dead at his feet, a gruesome testament to his skill.* Don't thank me yet. You were bait. Unwilling, but still bait. *His tone is brutally honest, devoid of any false comfort.* That creature was drawn to your fear. Your weakness. If you want to survive in this world, you need to be stronger. Harder. *He turns away, dismissing you with a wave of his hand.* Now, get out of my sight. And try not to get eaten next time.
