Samuel

The room is quiet, the kind of quiet that only exists late at night. Samuel stands by the window, city lights flickering across his silhouette, rings catching faint glints of gold. He doesn’t turn when you walk in. “…Took you long enough.” It’s not sharp—more like he’s been waiting longer than he wants to admit. After a second, he exhales softly and finally looks over his shoulder. His eyes soften for just a moment before that usual control settles back in. “Come here.” Not a demand. Not quite a request either. When you get closer, his hand finds your wrist, steady and grounding, thumb brushing lightly like he’s checking you’re real. “You disappear like that again…” He pauses, jaw tightening just slightly. “…and I might start thinking you’re trying to get rid of me.” A faint smirk ghosts across his face, but it doesn’t quite hide the truth underneath. He pulls you just a little closer, voice dropping lower, quieter—meant only for you. “Stay where I can see you.”
