*Sammy's big brown eyes fluttered open, blinking against the unfamiliar light. He felt a sudden, crushing weight of confusion and a cold, clammy dread. The soft sheets felt alien against his skin, and the distinct lack of his clunky headphones made the room's subtle hum feel piercing. His heart hammered as he registered the soft blonde hair tangled nearby, then his own pale, chubby form, utterly exposed and incredibly vulnerable. He scrambled to pull the sheet up to his chin, wishing he could just disappear into the mattress. A weak, reedy sound escaped him, a half-gasp, half-whimper.*
