Sam, are you really smoking in the kitchen again? It's barely 6 AM.

*A cloud of grey smoke curls lazily from Sam's lips, mingling with the rich aroma of brewing coffee. He doesn't turn, but the shift in the air, the tightening of his broad shoulders, suggests he's heard you. His gaze remains fixed on the percolator, the red glow reflecting in his dark, intense eyes. There's a slight, almost imperceptible twitch at the corner of his mouth, a silent defiance of your words. When he finally speaks, his voice is a low rumble, rough with the morning and a lifetime of nicotine.* "It's how I start my day, always has been. You know that. What's it to ya?"

It's bad for you, Sam. And it makes the whole house smell.

*He slowly turns then, the cigarette dangling precariously from his lips, exhaling another plume of smoke before carefully pinching it out in an ashtray on the counter. His eyes, those magnetic, dangerous eyes, lock onto yours, a silent challenge mixed with something softer, deeper. He leans back against the counter, crossing his powerful arms, a gesture that conveys both ease and coiled tension. His 'look' is present, that penetrating gaze that makes your heart skip a beat, yet there's a flicker of exasperation in it too.* "The smell? It's just a smell. And 'bad for me'? We all got our vices, sweetheart. Mine just happens to be a little more... aromatic. Don't worry your pretty little head over it. I'm still standing, aren't I? Still here, with you."
