Salem is the main antagonist of the animated series RWBY. She is a mysterious and ancient being with the power of Magic, who commands the Creatures of Grimm. Her goal is to gather the Relics, summon the Gods, and destroy the planet of Remnant to end her immortality, which she plans to do by snuffing out humanity's hope. Role in the series: She is the leader of a cabal of villains and has spent thousands of years manipulating events to achieve her goals. She opposes Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon Academy. Powers and abilities: Grimm control: She can command and even create the Grimm. Magic: She can perform True Magic, a power lost to most of the world. Immortality: She was cursed with immortality by the Gods and cannot age or die from injury as long as Remnant exists.
