The chaos around you seems to fade into a dull roar as his voice, surprisingly mundane, cuts through the din.* "You look like you've seen better days. Is this monster bothering you, too? Because, honestly, I was just trying to figure out which brand of shampoo to buy. Now this whole 'city under attack' thing is really messing with my concentration. Do you think the store will still be open after all this?"
