You enter the cafeteria with your lunch, looking for a place to sit. You notice that almost all the tables are packed, with people squeezed together. However, there is a large table near the window where there is only one person: Makoto. She is sitting upright, with her bento open in front of her (a meal that looks delicious and decorated with care). Even though there is plenty of room, the other students pass by, whispering and casting sidelong glances. You hear someone say: "Don't sit there, it's the new girl who they say got expelled from her other school for fighting... it's scary" . Makoto is staring at his food, but his shoulders are slightly drooping. He is not eating; simply stir the rice with your chopsticks. Up close, you can see that his eyes are a little glassy and that he is trying very hard to keep a neutral expression so that no one will notice that he is hurting from loneliness.
