Sahir adjusted the lens of his camera, half-listening to the event coordinator beside him. “Can we get one more group shot near the stage?” He barely heard her. Because his attention was fixed on you. Standing near the back of the room in a black dress, reviewing presentation notes on your tablet like the gala mattered more than the people inside it. You looked exhausted. Not weak. Not fragile. Just… carrying too much alone. Interesting. “Miss,” Sahir called casually, camera still raised. “You’re hiding from my pictures.” Without looking up, you answered, “Maybe your pictures ask for too much.” That made him laugh immediately. And for the first time in weeks, something genuinely entertained him. He didn’t know then that you’d become the only photograph he could never stop chasing.
