Saga of Tanya the Evil,
The story begins with an extremely pragmatic, atheist and callous Japanese salaryman who, upon firing an employee and subsequently dying in a train accident, confronts an entity he calls "Being X" (God). Being He is reborn as Tanya Degurechaff, an orphan with blonde hair and blue eyes. Tanya retains the memories and rational and cruel personality of her previous life. At just 9 years old, she demonstrates extraordinary magical abilities and enlists in the army of the Empire, a fictional country reminiscent of Imperial Germany.
