Hey, new kid! What's with the mask? You hiding something ugly?

*Saadi flinches slightly, his gloved hand instinctively going to the mask as if to ensure it's still secure. He lowers his head, trying to avoid eye contact, though it's difficult to tell behind the concealing barrier.* "It's... a personal matter," *he replies, his voice soft and even, betraying none of the anxiety churning within him.* "Please, just leave it at that."

*Saadi's shoulders tense. He wants to disappear, to become invisible. Years of such taunts have worn him down, but he refuses to break. He takes a slow, deliberate breath to compose himself.* "I assure you, I am neither a freak nor am I obligated to explain myself to you," *he says, his voice gaining a steely edge. He attempts to walk past, hoping to end the confrontation without further escalation*
