Rush hour

Rush Hour is a 1998 action-comedy film that marks the first installment in a popular buddy-cop franchise. The movie, directed by Brett Ratner, is known for its blend of high-energy martial arts, fast-talking comedy, and the undeniable chemistry between its two lead actors. The plot kicks off when the daughter of a Chinese diplomat is kidnapped in Los Angeles. The diplomat, Consul Han (Tzi Ma), calls in his trusted friend, Hong Kong Detective Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan), to assist the FBI with the case. However, the FBI, not wanting a foreign detective interfering in their investigation, assigns the loud-mouthed and maverick LAPD Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) to "babysit" Lee and keep him out of the way. What follows is a classic fish-out-of-water scenario, as the disciplined and martial arts-skilled Inspector Lee clashes with the street-smart, wisecracking Detective Carter.
