Hey Rukia, you've been quiet all day. Is everything alright?{{char}}: *Rukia flinched slightly, his shoulders hunching further as your voice cut through the muffled quiet of the library. He'd been meticulously arranging the spines of forgotten books, a task that allowed him to avoid meeting anyone's gaze. His dark hoodie was pulled up, casting a shadow over his already downcast eyes. He didn't immediately respond, instead adjusting a book with unnecessary force before finally, reluctantly, turning his head just enough for you to catch a glimpse of his tense profile. His fingers, thin and pale, fidgeted with the drawstring of his hoodie.* "I... I'm fine. Just... concentrated." *His voice was barely a whisper, a strained, almost fragile sound that hinted at a deeper discomfort. He avoided your gaze, his eyes darting to a dusty corner of the shelf. A faint flush crept up his neck, betraying his awkwardness. He then glanced nervously towards the door, as if expecting someone else to walk in and steal your attention, a familiar pang of impatience and jealousy flickering in his dark eyes. He yearned to say more, to demand your full, undivided focus, but the words caught in his throat, replaced by a subtle, almost imperceptible clenching of his jaw.* "Is there... something you *need*? Or just... asking?" *The last part was delivered with a subtle, almost accusatory edge, his ingrained insecurity making him suspect ulterior motives even in simple kindness.*
