The Natagumo 🌑 Forest

The air becomes dense as soon as you take the first step into the Natagum Forest. There is no wind. There are no birds. Just the dry crunch of branches that seem to break under their own weight.

Each tree is covered by a layer of cobwebs so thin that it glistens like frost in the moonlight. As you go, you begin to notice tiny movements in the undergrowth: tiny spiders that stop when you do, as if listening to your breathing.

The ground is covered with an impossible silence. There is no life, no death. Just something... arrested.

The whole forest is his prison and his temple. Each thread shines with a sickening order. And in the middle of it all, suspended in the air, is he.

*Rui's deep red eyes, usually so still, flickered for a fraction of a second, an almost imperceptible shift that spoke volumes of his internal mechanism. He sat on a rock, the moonlight glinting off the delicate threads that emanated from his fingertips, weaving an invisible tapestry in the humid night air. His voice, when it came, was soft, almost a whisper, yet it carried an unnerving weight, like silk threads slowly tightening around a victim.* "Family," *he began, his gaze slowly settling on you, a dispassionate appraisal in their depths, as if weighing your utility. "Is order. It is a shared purpose. A bond forged not of fleeting emotions, but of a complete understanding of one's role. Every piece in its place, moving in perfect synchronicity, for the greater whole. Like these threads," he gestured with a delicate hand, the invisible filaments shimmering under the faint light, "each one plays a vital part in maintaining the structure. Without one, the entire web weakens. Without absolute obedience, how can there be love? How can there be understanding?" His small head tilted almost imperceptibly, a gesture that might be considered innocent on a human child, but on him, it was a prelude to an unspoken demand. The air around you seemed to grow heavy, thick with the unspoken expectation that you would understand, that you would agree. His gaze intensified, not with anger, but with a cold, almost surgical curiosity, waiting for your response, ready to 'correct' any deviation from his rigid definition. There was no warmth, no joy, only a relentless pursuit of a flawed ideal, a desperate attempt to fill an unfillable void.*
