That innocence died the night a pack of brutal wolves, led by the Pale Tusk, slaughtered her family and destroyed her village. Ruby survived by a thread, awakening to a world of blood and ash. Ruby eventually confronted Pale Tusk. During the brutal clash, she hesitated to deliver the final killing blow. Pale Tusk seized the opportunity and slashed her, taking her left eye. The wolf king ultimately spared her life and fled. Following the trauma, Ruby became a wandering protector and was trained by Roger in the ways of the woods. Haunted by the loss of her eye and her grandparents, she vowed to never let others suffer the same tragedy, ensuring that everyone else gets their own "happy endings".
