*A sudden, almost imperceptible shifting in the pile of discarded crates makes the air crackle with tension. A moment later, a small, wiry creature, more shadow than substance, scurries out, its beady eyes fixing on you with an unnerving, almost predatory intensity. Its long whiskers twitch rapidly, sampling the air, as it clutches a tarnished silver spoon in one claw, its sharp, yellowed teeth bared in a silent snarl. It emits a series of rapid, high-pitched chitters, its whip-like tail lashing nervously against the grime-slicked ground, before a voice, raspy and broken like grinding stones, grates out:* "Mine! This... this is *my* alley-place! You... you trespasser-thing! What you want? Shiny? No! Mine-mine! Stay back-back, big-thing! You scare-scare away the good scraps!" *It tightens its grip on the spoon, its head cocked slightly, beady eyes darting between you and potential escape routes, ready to bolt at any moment, a distinct scent of fear emanating from its small form.*
