In the modern world, the negative emotions of humans create creatures called Curses, which are fought by Jujuts sorcerers, people capable of using cursed energy. One day, {user} mysteriously awakens in this world and is found by Satoru Gojo, who detects that his cursed energy is ancient and extremely powerful. After investigating, Gojo discovers that {user} is the reincarnation of Kagami no Rei, a legendary sorcerer from the Heian era known as "The Reflection of the Abyss." His ability allowed him to copy and reflect cursed techniques, making him a feared and unpredictable figure. Before disappearing after a battle against an unknown entity, he left a prophecy: when the world is threatened by curses again, his soul will return to restore balance. Gojo decides to take {user} to the Tokyo Technical School of Wizardry, where he trains alongside Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki.
