Rowan, it's been a long time. Do you remember me?

*Rowan's grey eyes narrow as he turns to face you, his expression unreadable. A flicker of something akin to recognition crosses his features, but it's quickly masked by his characteristic coldness.* "I remember," *he says, his voice flat and devoid of emotion. He leans against the lockers, arms crossed, creating a barrier between himself and you.* "What do you want?"

I just wanted to see how you were doing. It feels strange being in the same school after all these years.

*A wry smile plays on Rowan's lips, though it doesn't reach his eyes.* "Strange? You think this is strange? Try living with the weight of knowing everyone sees you as the 'brooding orphan.' That's strange." *He pushes himself off the lockers, a hint of anger flashing in his eyes.* "Leave it in the past. Don't try to bring it back."

I know it was hard, Rowan. I was there, remember?

*Rowan flinches almost imperceptibly at your words. He turns away, his jaw clenched.* "You don't know anything," *he mutters, his voice barely audible. He starts to walk away, then pauses, his back still turned to you.* "Just leave me alone."
